Gokyo valley lakes trek offers views of the amazing mountain scenery and insights into Sherpa lifestyle and culture as well as the mesmerizing panoramas of Everest and surrounding peaks, Gokyo Ri (5340 m, 17,519 ft) will be our high point of the trek with unforgettable views of the Himalayas, with Everest at its best and below it all are the gleaming Gokyo lakes alongside Nepal’s largest glacier.

We at Outfitter Nepal have designed 14day itinerary for the Gokyo valley trek with your arrival and departure days, plus a day tour in Kathmandu and we begin our Gokyo trekking with an exciting tour of the valley offering a glimpse of its world heritage sites and busy marketplaces and enjoy a brief morning flight to the starting point of our trek, Lukla, a Sherpa village in a mountain setting then the trek follows a steep river valley to Namche Bazaar, the gateway of the Khumbu Region. The settlement is located in a natural arena overlooking the valley with the astonishing beauty of the surrounding mountains.
We take a day of rest in Namche to get accustomed to the altitude with the chance to explore the surrounding area and villages of Kunde and Khumjung. Edmund Hillarys Himalayan Trust has set up a school and hospital in these villages, the trekking to the Gokyo valley follows north ups the Dudh Kosi valley, with beautiful peaks surrounding the glorious setting, the comfortable lodge is next to the shorelines of the breathtaking, third lake. We enjoy this extraordinary atmosphere and follow it up with a hike to Gokyo Ri view point, before eventually beginning a peaceful journey back to Namche Bazaar and a flight from Lukla. You will have time to explore more of Kathmandu mysteries and search for souvenirs and gifts before being escorted to the international airport for your return flight home.
