The trekking in Nepal is possible in every season, despite considered off-season for trekking in Nepal, the Summer or monsoon season can still offer you some trekking from short trek to long and adventure trek as well.

The Monson or the summer spans from the end of may to the end of August in Nepal and heavy rainfall in most of parts of Nepal and the roads and trekking paths become wet and muddy and the weather is the most important factor for the trekking so, there obvious risk of land slide, flood and avalanches on our trek so, we have selected only few treks for the season where there is less risk of these factors.

Sightseeing tours such as Kathmandu tour, Pokhara tour, Lumbini tour and Safari in Chitwan National park have no problem and they are accessible and doable all around the year and some small treks such as the Chisapani Trek, Nagarkot Trek, Saranngkot Hike, Ghandruk Trek, Ghorepani Trek are possible on monsoon in Nepal and trekking to some of the rain shadow areas like Mustang, Kaligandaki Valley or Dolpo the most popular trekking for the monsoon in Nepal.

Recomended Nepal Trips for Monsoon Seasons

Upper Mustang Trek

The upper Mustang is one of the rain-shadow areas in Nepal and the Mustang is Located on the northern frontiers of Nepal, Upper Mustang was once an independent kingdom which was later annexed into mainland Nepal in 18th Century. Predominantly Buddhist, the inhabitants of the region was once the followers of Bon religion (one of the ancient religions of South Asia).

As the Mustang is rain Shadow area, the trekking in Mustang is possible in monsoon in Nepal.

Chisapani Nagarkot Short Trek

The Chisapani and Nagarkot are very close to Kathmandu and they are called Kathmandu ridge as well and we can do small 3-4 days trekking/hiking in this area even in Monsoon in Nepal, some days even in summer, the sky is clear and you can view the great Himalayas and the landscape in this region, the trek is possible in all season and in monsoon as well, so, we advise people to take this small trek if you really want to take taste of trek in Nepal and you have time available only on monsoon and there is no risk to have trek in this part even in monsoon.

Sarangkot-Dhampus Trek

The Sarangkot and Dhampus is located near Pokhara city, and one can do small 3-4 days trek in this part in monsoon, it rain even in this parts however there is not any risk to trek in this trial even in rain and after the rain, you may have open and clear sky when you can view the great Himalayas including the Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Many more, so, we propose you to have this trek if you have holiday only in Monsoon in Nepal.

Ghorepani-Poon Hill Trek

The Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trek is located in Annapurna Region and it could be 4-5 days trek in this trail, the trek is one of the most popular trek for the short time trekkers and traveling with family and very busy all around the year as well, and the trekking in this trail is possible in monsoon as well, you will have to trek even in the rain as this is rainy season in Nepal however there is very less of any risk and we have been organizing the trek in monsoon many times and have found no problem at all, so, if any of you are planning to trek in Nepal then the Ghorepani-Poon Hill can be one of the best suited trek for you.

Visit Kathmandu Valley - the capital of Nepal

If you are planning to visit Nepal in monsoon season in Nepal, you do not have to be worry  as there are many places to visit even in monsoon and one of them is the Kathmandu valley, the Kathmandu valley is the capital of Nepal and this city has the international airport where all the travelers traveling to Nepal must fly so, it is obvious that every one visit Kathmandu.

The Kathmandu is big city and there are many places to visit, the Kathmandu itself have seven world UNESCO cultural heritage sites which are the Kathmandu Durbar Squire, Patan Durbar Squire, Bhaktapur Squire, Chagunarayan Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Pasupatinath Temple and Swoyambhunath Stupa, a part from these there are many other places like Budhanilkhantha, Balaju Garden, Kirtipur, Pharping, Dakshinkali, Chovar, Bungmati, Khokana and there are other town and hillock such as Nagarkot and Dhulikhel, you can visit all these places in your visit in monsoon in Nepal, you can spend even a week in Nepal in Kathmandu and its surroundings.

Visit the Pokhara - Beautiful city of lakes

The Pokhara is another most popular tourist city in Nepal and the one of the most visited places in Nepal. The Pokhara is the gate way to some of the most famous trek in Annapurna Region including Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The Pokhara is popular for its natural beauty as there is Phewa lake, Peace stupa, Caves, Falls, museums, viewpoints like Sarangkot and Dhampus so,  if any of you are planning to travel Nepal, the Pokhara can be another destination.

Visit Lumbini - Birth Place of Lord Buddha

The Lumbini is the birth place of lord Gautam Bouddha, and this place now has become one of the popular tourist destination and center for the Buddhism and thousand of pilgrimage visit this place every year and you do not be Buddhist to visit this place as the Lumbini is another UNESCO world cultural heritage site in Nepal and this is place is source of peace and happiness. So, if any of you are planning to travel in Nepal in monsoon then do not miss to visit this place also however it does not mean that you need to travel in monsoon to visit Lumbini, you can visit the Lumbini all around the year including the summer/monsoon season.

Visit Chitwan National park - finest National for Safari

The Chitwan National park is located at southern part of Nepal, and this is Natural Heritage listed in UNESCO and the one of the most popular National park for the Jungle safari, Elephant safari and other jungle activities and the park can be visited in all around the year including summer, monsoon season in Nepal so, you are planning to travel Nepal in monsoon then we advise you to travel to the Chitwan National park as well as there is not any problem or not any risk so, you ca include Chitwan on your holidays in Monsoon in Nepal.
