Day 01 - Flight from KTM flight to Lukla 35 minute flight, Distance 136.17km, and trekking to Phakding (2652m): walking distance 2-3 hours, 200 meters descent and 50 meters ascent - 8km

Day 02 - Phakding trekking to Namche Bazaar (3440m): walking distance 5-6 hours, 300 meters ascent and 300 meters descent - 11.3 km.

Day 04 - Tengboche trekking to Dingboche (4360m): walking distance 5 hours, 70 meters descent and 580 meters ascent - 12 km.

Day 05 - Dingboche Trekking to Lobuche (4940m): walking distance 4-5 hours, 700 meters ascent - 9 km

What Is The Weather and Temperature Like at Everest Base Camp?

There are four seasons at Everest: Autumn, Spring, Summer, and Winter. Every season in Everest experiences different weather and temperature conditions.

Weather and Temperature in Autumn

During Autumn (September, October, and November) the weather at the Everest base camp is perfect. During autumn, the atmosphere is very clear. The sky is blue. You will see the magnificent views of the enticing peaks.

The base camp experiences post-monsoon weather till mid of September. From mid-September onwards till mid of November, the weather is fairly stable. This is the most popular time for trekking in Everest base camp. From mid of November and onwards, the weather shifts to pre-winter weather.

The months of December, January, and February experience winter season at Everest.

In winter, the daytime is warm. Daytime temperature averages around 8-degree centigrade. The temperature in the Everest region falls down drastically at nights. The maximum night time temperature is -7 degrees. This can drop down to -15 degrees.

How Difficult is the Everest Base Camp Trek in 7 Days?

Everest base camp trek is tough because of its geology and altitude. For a beginner, this trek might be tough. But if you have previous trekking experiences, the EBC trek isn’t so hard.

Some of the difficulty factors during the Everest base camp trek are:


Altitude is the major difficulty factor during the Everest base camp trek. The trek begins at Lukla, 2860 meters. Even while you are at the lowest elevation of the trek, you are at the risk of altitude sickness.

The Everest base camp is at an altitude of 5380 meters. The trek takes you to the highest elevation of 5554 meters.

You must take proper rest while trekking. Choose itinerary with proper acclimatization schedule. Acclimatizing means getting used to low oxygen levels in the air.


The total length on the Everest Base Camp trek that you will cover by walking is 65 km. On a standard 14 days itinerary, you should walk for 6-7 hours a day. Walking over the steep uphills and downhills over the rugged trails is really tough.
